WHAT BOAT AND BAY IS
A curator, not a boat company.
Boat and Bay does not own vessels and does not employ crew. What we do is choose, prepare, and stand behind. We select private yachts from a short list of vetted local operators — only those who meet our standard for safety, condition, and service — and then layer our own work on top: the chef, the bar, the photographer, the styling, the timing, the briefing, the greeting.
You will not be handed a list of thirty boats. You will receive one, two, or three vessels that suit your occasion, your group, and the day you have in mind. Choosing well is our job. That, and the hour before you arrive, is what you are paying for.
We hold three to four charters a week and no more. Not because demand is low — because this standard is only possible at this size. If your date is free, it is yours. If it is not, we will say so rather than stretch.
WHY BOAT AND BAY EXISTS
I built the company I wished someone had answered the phone at.
I was born in Europe and have lived in Germany, France, Spain, Cuba, Lithuania, and the United States before settling here, on the bay. I speak six languages. I have spent most of my working life on the seam between cultures — teaching people how to serve guests whose expectations were formed somewhere else, and helping the guests understand what they were seeing.
Mexico is warm, generous, and logistically inconsistent. That gap is where important days break — not from bad intent, but from a message that never quite arrived. A suuplier who heard "around noon." A cake that came without candles. A proposal timed to a sunset nobody had checked.
Boat and Bay exists to close that gap in both directions. I translate your expectations into the language the crew actually works in, and I translate the reality of the bay back to you before it surprises you. I have worked these waters for years. I know which operators keep their engines and their promises, which chefs can plate on a moving deck, and which beaches are private in the afternoon and crowded by eleven.
None of this is mysterious. It is simply thinking, vetting, and preparation — done by someone who does it every week, so you do not have to do it once, in a second language, with no recourse.
HELD TO A STANDARD
The hour before you arrive.
This is the part of the day no one sees, and the reason the rest of it is calm.

I am on the vessel. Engines, safety equipment, bathrooms, cabins, deck — a full walk-through, the same list every time.

The crew briefing, in Spanish. Your names, your occasion, the timing of anything that must land precisely, and what "on time" means today.

Linens and pillows placed. Fresh towels. Soap, toilet paper, sunscreen, a small kit of the things people forget. Uniforms checked.

The bar is stocked to the preferences you gave me — not a default list. Ice, glassware, the specific tequila you mentioned.

Decorations, flowers, cake, playlist, or photographer are in place if the day calls for them.

OURS TO PREPARE, AND WE DO
— The vessel selection. Chosen from operators we know, inspected by me before every charter.
— The chef, the bar, the photographer, the flowers, the cake, the music. Our own subcontracted vendors — vetted, briefed, paid by us, accountable to us.
— The styling and set-up. Linens, towels, bathrooms, decorations, accessibility equipment, dietary needs.
— The briefing. Every partner crew, before every charter, in their language.
— The paperwork. Written terms before any deposit. IVA invoice. Itemized extras before you confirm, never after.
— The phone. One person, reachable from shore for the length of your charter, with a plan already in place.
NOT OURS TO PROMISE
— The weather and the sea. If conditions turn, we tell you early and honestly, and we have a plan — a reschedule, a shorter route, a sheltered anchorage.
— The crew's every move once under way. We select and brief the partner crew carefully. We do not employ them, and we do not steer the vessel.
— Public beaches. The deck is yours. A beach in Mexico belongs to everyone, and we say so before you plan a moment around it.
— Whales, dolphins, sea turtles. We know the season and the water. We cannot schedule an animal.
We would rather tell you this on a web page than at the dock. What we promise is that we will be ready for the things we cannot control — and that a real person will answer when it matters.
THE BICULTURAL BRIDGE
Nothing gets lost in translation.
Not on your birthday. Not on your proposal. I brief the crew in Spanish, greet you in English, and can take a call from a French grandmother or a German father-in-law without a pause. The languages are not a party trick. They are the reason the message arrives intact.

WHERE I AM ON THE DAY
Present where it helps. Absent where it matters.
On board as your bilingual host
For family charters with several generations, milestone birthdays for ten or more, bachelorette groups, and any day with a chef, a photographer, and a surprise to land — I am on board for the duration. I manage the partner crew in their language, coordinate the vendors, and handle every logistical detail as it arrives. The person who organized the day does not have to work it. This is included, not added.
Coordinating from shore
For a proposal, an anniversary, an elopement, or a day for two — once you board, the day is yours. The crew has been briefed, your preferences are in place, and everything was prepared in full before you arrived. I remain reachable from shore throughout, one call away, and you will not need me.
For our most intimate charters, we coordinate from shore. The day belongs to our guests.

— Partner crews and vendors paid fairly and on time — which is why they answer my calls.
— Groups of up to thirty-five. Three to four charters a week, by design.
